Hon. Col, Seoratary

I had a conversation with Mr. Cowan on Friday, and

dathered from him that I might be called on to do this work. I might

say that before I knew there was to be any pay for the work I was

prepared to undertake it, and with the help of a good olerk I do not

see why this remittance business, troublesome tho' it may be, should

not be put thro' satisfactorily.

that he is willing to undertake the work provided it is recognized

as work additional to and outside of his official duties.ˆ
